The Gecko is common enemy found in the Mojave Wasteland. There are a few varieties such as; Fire Gecko, Golden Gecko and the normal Gecko. Normal Gecko's are fairly easy to kill and can be brought down with a few shots from the Varmint Rifle. The Fire Gecko is a bigger threat to travelers, they can spew fire and are much more resilient to damage and require more powerful weaponry to take down. The Golden Gecko is a formidable opponent and can bring down ill-equppied wanderers easily but all in all if you have decent weaponry, they aren't much of a problem.
Important notes[]
- In Fallout 2, the quest perk Gecko Skinning allows the player to skin silver gecko and golden gecko (not fire gecko). In Fallout: New Vegas, you are able to take the hide of any kind of geckos directly, and if your survival skill is high enough, you can tan the skin at a campfire.
- In Fallout: New Vegas, geckos are considered animals for purposes of the Animal Friend (with the exception of the fire gecko), Animal Control, and Hunter perks.
